About Riverside Custom Cabinet Pros

A cabinet business for Riverside, California and the Inland Empire. This page sets out how we work, what we publish and why, what we will not do, and one plain statement about our name that matters more here than it would in most cities.

What we do

Custom and semi-custom cabinetry for homes and businesses in Riverside, California and the surrounding Inland Empire, across Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Kitchens, islands, bathroom vanities, built-ins, media walls, closets, pantries, garage storage, laundry rooms, mudrooms, wine and bar cabinetry, countertops, hardware and soft-close upgrades, cabinet refacing, installation, and commercial millwork.

Every service has its own page on this site with the detail behind it rather than a bullet on a list, and fourteen guides go further than any single page can.

How we work

We measure the room, not the drawing. Riverside's median housing unit was built in 1976 and 56.5 percent of the city's stock dates from 1979 or earlier, on American Community Survey 2024 five year estimates, covering 2020 to 2024. Framing of that age has moved. The dimension on a plan and the dimension on your wall are rarely the same, and a cabinet built to the first will not fit the second.

We name materials by location. Plywood at the sink base and the dishwasher return, and whatever the budget supports elsewhere. A specification that answers the box material question once for a whole kitchen is answering the wrong question.

We specify hardware properly. Manufacturer, hinge type with opening angle and overlay, slide type with extension and weight rating. Soft close is a feature, not a specification.

We put a licence number on the paperwork. California requires a contractor licence for work over $1,000 in labour and materials combined, and the classification covering this trade is C-6 Cabinet, Millwork and Finish Carpentry. You should be able to check it in about ninety seconds, which means it has to be written down.

We tell you when the cheaper option is the right one. If the carcasses are sound and the layout works, refacing or an interior upgrade is frequently a better use of the money than a new kitchen, and the written scope will say so.

Why this site has so many numbers on it

Because the alternative is adjectives, and adjectives are free. Any cabinet site can call itself experienced, trusted and local. None of that is checkable.

What is checkable is the City of Riverside's own permit handout, which prints the cabinet exemption verbatim. The City's plan check bulletin, which gives tier turnaround times in working days. The Census housing data for every city we cover. The USDA Wood Handbook's dimensional change coefficients. The South Coast air district's coating limits in grams per litre. The CALGreen formaldehyde table. The federal lead rule's square footage threshold. Every one of those is named with a link, and every one can be read without taking our word for anything.

Where a figure does not exist, this site says so. There is no published Riverside refinishing cost, so none is given. The Wood Handbook publishes no Riverside moisture station, so none is invented. The County of Riverside's building pages could not be read at build time, so no county threshold is quoted.

What we will not do

A short list, stated plainly, because the absence of these things on a website is usually assumed to be an oversight rather than a decision.

  • We do not publish reviews, star ratings or testimonials, because this site has not accumulated any of its own and inventing or borrowing them would be deceptive
  • We do not carry review structured data, for the same reason
  • We do not publish a named author with invented credentials; everything here is written by the business rather than by a fictional expert
  • We do not publish week counts for cabinet projects, because nothing we can source supports them
  • We do not quote figures from other cities as though they were Riverside figures; every table names its geography
  • We do not take a deposit above the statutory cap, which is $1,000 or ten percent of the contract amount, whichever is less
  • We do not perform work disturbing painted surfaces in pre-1978 homes without the firm certification the federal rule requires

Where we work

Riverside, California and the Inland Empire, with dedicated pages for thirteen other cities across Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Each of those pages is written around that city's own housing data rather than the same paragraph with the name swapped, because the differences are real.

The pre-1978 question, which comes up constantly here

With 56.5 percent of this city's housing built in 1979 or earlier, most of the work we are asked about falls under the federal renovation, repair and painting rule. Anyone paid to disturb painted surfaces in a home built before 1978 must be a certified firm with employees trained in lead safe work practices, a requirement that expressly includes sole proprietorships, and the minor repair exemption covers only six square feet or less of paint per room inside.

We treat that as the default assumption on any older Riverside house rather than as an occasional consideration, and we expect to be asked for the certification number alongside the licence number. Both are single questions with single sentence answers.
